For this blog assignment I was able to talk to three individuals that where different in everyway. First I talked to a parent in my classroom who is Indian and she said," Culture to me is the traditions that are passed down from generation to generation. Diversity is when different individuals of different gender, ages, race, or cultures come together." The second individual I talked with is my neighbor who is Vietnamese and he said," Culture is what we are born into it is what our family does together, it is what my family is made of." Diversity is different people." The last person that I was able to talk to was one of my Caucasian co-coworker and she said," culture is something that is individualized for a specific race of people. Diversity is different groups of people of different nationalities."
Hearing what others think of culture and diversity made me think that for the most part each individual had the same definition in a way. Each one talked about culture being specific to a race or nationality of people. On the topic of diversity each had the same words in the definition which was different people. I think that there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to defining culture and diversity because each person has their own views and we as individuals should always respect others.
